March Message from the East
March 4, 2015
Greetings from the East:
We had our regular stated meeting on Tuesday March 3, 2015 and it was very well attended. Everyone enjoyed a fantastic meal consisting of: Pork tenderloin, Sweet corn and Mashed Potatoes. Bread and for desserts hot peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream. A special thank you to WBro Danny Able’s wife C-Anne who prepared the pork. I am sorry we had to limit the portion of meat on your plate, but it good that we did as we had just enough. I will try to do better in the future.
Another great meeting, Thank you to all that come and a particular thanks to the officers everyone did a great job and we continue to improve. I am trying to keep the regular meetings light but be respectful to the craft. Please let me know if I overstep, but until then hopefully we can all laugh together.
This message is not meant to be a minutes of the meeting, but I feel it is important you know the major issues of the lodge. There was a lot more discussed and I hope more brothers continue to come.
Thank you to all the brothers who represented Pacific Lodge to honor George Washington, our founding father and masonic brother 283rd birthday. I believe we had about twelve brothers in attendance. It was a fantastic ceremony and the weather held out until the very end. Please check our website for pictures of this event. www.pacific325.org
Speaking of our website, Congratulations to brother Will Dutton who won a ten dollar gift card for visiting our site and calling me to say he found a line that read “ Call Ed Simpson and win if you’re the first to call” so…you never know what out there unless you go look. Brother David Able is doing a fantastic job and all of you should visit often and read to see what going on at Pacific. Who knows you may big a winner next.
We really need to sit back and think about the knowledge base we have at pacific lodge with all the active past masters and brothers, but more especially to the fact that we have two past Grand Masters in our lodge. MWBro Tommy Bryant and MWBro Ron Mitchum. The wealth of knowledge in these two is incredible and I lean on them heavily for guidance. My brothers I encourage each one of you especially our newer brothers to talk and get to know these two brothers and learn of their masonic journey. So much masonic information in their heads. A big thank you to these brothers for their commitment to masonry and our lodge.
Now, let us pray for our Sick and Distressed and keep these brothers and family members in you daily thoughts and prayers:
Brother Jan Barkan brother In-law as she goes for surgery.
Brother Landon and Travis Rish with the continued recovery of their mother.
Ivan Langley’s wife Lisa as she continues to have health issues.
Brother Rich Frye as he recovers from his stroke and his accident last week.
Worshipful brother Boise Martins mother as she recovers from her illness.
Worshipful brother Danny Able as he seeks doctors care
Worshipful Dewey Daniels wife (Francis) as she recovers.
Brother Matt Moskowitz (Dentsville Lodge # 398)
Worshipful Doyle Jaco’s wife as she continues to heal.
Brothers Raymond Shumpert as he continues to get better.
Brother Jack Hare as he continues to get better.
And any others we know in our hearts.
We offer this prayer :
Think, o God, of our friends and brothers who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard. Comfort him upon his sickbed, and ease his suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit that no healing is too hard for the Lord, if it be His will. We therefore pray that You bless our friend’s and brothers with Your loving care, renew his strength, and heal what ails him in Your loving name. Thank You, Lord.
After our meal the craft was busy setting the work. We will have a EA Degree on March 17, 2015 (Luis Reichart) and a FC Degree on March 14, 2015 (Shawn Truett).
Masonic education will be held on Friday March 9, 2015 at 6:30pm
Congratulations to Brother Joe Hartley who was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on February 24, 2015. We look forward to sitting in the lodge with you for years to come.
The kitchen project continues…WBro Ed Simpson informed, that an inspection was done on our kitchen hood and the results are the hood does not meet code requirements and must be replaced. A cost to replace this is still TBD. Lodge is still waiting on cost of cabinets in the kitchen. It was noted that the planning for this is will take some time and construction will not begin until after the Lodges annual BBQ.
The lodge voted to have a spaghetti dinner as a fund raiser for Brother Rich Frye who is experiencing some life challenges. The dinner is set for a Friday evening May 1st, 2015. A donation of $5.00 is being requested and all lodge members will be sent tickets and asked to participate.
The date has been set for our annual BBQ…It is June 27th, 2015. Tickets will be mailed to all members in the coming months, so be planning to buy and /or sell tickets.
